What To Have Before You Get Started
Be sure to have your Brand Images ready to go (i.e. company logo, gravatar, skyscraper ad layouts etc). Keep in mind that this is your Brand so keep your message clear and have calls to action (what do you want them to do). Lastly K.I.S (Keep it Simple). A good fan page is as much about the visitor as it is about you.
I Am Ready to Get Started!
- Start by visiting PageModo and click the “Create Page” button. Sign in with your Facebook account or create one.
- As soon as your logged in you can choose between (2) layout options. Whats more you see it while your creating it!
- Once you have chosen your layout click “Continue” button. Now you will see (depending on which layout you choose) all the fields necessary to customize your page. For this tutorial we chose the second layout option. As such we saw (16) sixteen navigational prompt boxes to complete. Seems like a lot but if you don’t know HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and want a professional Fan page then keep following along! Follow the prompts one by one adding photos where needed and text when appropriate. The options are all laid out the left of the page with your “Preview” box to the right. So you get to see the look as your creating it!
- At some point you near the end you will be ask about the “Footer Credits”. Keep them or not? For a mere ($2/mo) you can bypass the footer credit (screen shot below) that otherwise comes with your Fan page buildout.
- Complete the process by installing to your Facebook account and voila! You now have a professionally designed Facebook Fan Page!
