Why Real Estate Professionals Should Sign up with Business.com’s Answer Forum

After we put out a post about Internet Directories and did more research on Business.com we found something rather surprising.  They launched a Forum that covers various aspects of the Real Estate Industry (among other industries).  From buying, leasing, moving and many other categories you can ask questions or answer questions from other users – both professionals and consumers. So stop by and help answer someones real estate question (there are lots and lots of them!) or ask your own!

In October 2009, Business.com launched Business.com Answers, the first interactive social media forum in the industry dedicated to the needs of B2B users and customers. Business users and advertisers are able to showcase their expertise, ask questions and build relationships with potential clients by participating in this B2B question-and-answer community.

If you want to answer questions you will be asked to sign up for an account (FREE).  The profile allows you to add a photo (or logo), brief bio and link to your website.  They also go by a point system – the more you post or comment the more points you get.  You could even end up on their leader board “Top Real Estate Experts“.  After you answer a question (which you can also put links in) you also have the option to Tweet it!

Similar to email subscription (automatic updates) they have something called a Category Subscription. Basically each time someone posts a question to a specific category you can be automatically notified. Choose from Buying, Home Office, Leasing, Moving, Office Furniture, Property Management or the whole Real Estate category! Look at it like a possible lead … they ask the question and you answer it.

What a great FREE way to get your Brand out and to potentially pick up more clients!  Why would you want to do this if your an Agent, Broker or REALTOR©? Take a look at the traffic numbers (site visitors), and it doesn’t hurt that it has a Google pagerank of 7 (main site).

Real Estate Marketing is about getting the word out and what better way than to go to where the word is! It’s like setting up a profile on Active Rain, Trulia or Zillow. Your target audience both professional (network) and consumer (potential clients). With the amount of traffic they get we would hard pressed that you were not able to generate a lead or two. Like all things in life … you get out of it what you put in to it.
